Degree project - Calypso

This degree project is my sight on Russian supercar.

When I have started to work over this project, I have laid down for myself one aim – to develop original style of a supercar, for daily using in a city. For a basis of stylistics I took style of cars of 1950-1970.

In my opinion the design in motor industry has reached the peak in those of year, in comparison with today when all is unified and dances to tune of marketing …

The Second line of style there was use of forms which we meet in the nature, for example I took water elements for a basis: waves, drops … and a figure of the girl: the waist, a hip line … when one smoothly flows in another.
Also has tried to connect it in one car.

To strengthen associations with water, I have added the third association of already technical character – a bathyscaphe.
Flashlights are executed in the form of screws of an underwater vessel, and on the top view it is similar to a floating submarine leaving a trace of bubbles ...

Through these holes leave hot air.

When I have put together all three associations in a head: water, the girl … bathyscaphe – the car name has come by itself – Calypso – the nymph in the Ancient Greek mythology, living on island Oligija in the Extreme West where Odysseus has come on a ship fragment …
The same name had been named a scientifically-researching vessel of Jacques-Yves Cousteau …
This car is based on platform of Lamborghini Gallardo. The basic competitors are: Porsche 911 GT2, Ferrari F430, Audi R8 5.2 FSI, Lamborghini Gallardo LP560, Alfa Romeo C8 Competizione, Spiker Aileron.
